Ava Powers is an interdisciplinary artist inspired by the intersection of fashion and art. She worked on multiple student publications during her time at the University of Florida in various roles ranging from fashion styling to art direction. Residing in Dunedin, Florida, she works as a studio manager for a local photography studio and manages social media for a fine jeweler. She has an LVMH certificate in Creation and Branding and experience doing creative work in the jewelry/bridal industry, understanding the psychology of luxury and the aesthetics of desire, an idea that recurs in her paintings. She is inspired by French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau, one of the foremost avant-garde artists of the 20th century, an artist who built "an entire visual world, --a personal brand even" through his work, and who was closely associated and collaborated with the fashion industry.
